Christmas Wedding

As mentioned in my previous post I have been to my friends daughters wedding. It was lovely, what wedding isn't but the weather was rather cold and wet sad to say. However a good day was had by all, the bride and groom in particular, and that's the all important factor isn't it.

As promised here is a picture of the cake I did for them.

It looks a bit blue on the picture but is actually deep purple. Both are fruit cakes so manpower was required to lift and move it and transport it to Blackpool! It travelled well, thank goodness.

Also here is my last cake of the year, my Christmas cake. It still hasn't been cut! Everyone is too full after Chritmas dinner to eat any, so -- me thinks we will be eating cake till Easter as we are still finishing Alan's birthday cake! but it will keep.It was a bit of a rush job in the end to finish it off, but I made the unwired sugar poinsettia for the top and added edible sparkles for a bit of bling.

That's all folks - as they say, for this year anyhow. I hope to be back next year with more cards and creativity and getting to grips with blogger.(sounds ages away doesn't it but it's only just over a day).
Thank you so much for looking and sharing and to anyone who has left me a comment, thank you, it spurs me on and is much appreciated.

I wish all of you a very Happy, Healthy, Peaceful and Crafty New Year

Nearly over!

Nearly over! Time got away with me, please tell me I am not the only one. I did manage to get everything finished for the big day that had to be, but didn't get my card posted so here it is!

A simple card using that popular tree from Spellbinders this year, oh so intricate but gorgeous. Mounted it on glitter card and then on pearlecent card which I pierced round the edges and then mounted on base card. Added pearls to the tree for baubles. I can't take the credit for this design, I was inspired by Sue Wilson as I am sure are alot of people.

Hope your Christmas has gone well and you managed to finish all your projects and spend time with loved ones.

I am off to a wedding this weekend ( I made the cake) so pictures after the New Year of that!

Happy New Crafting Year to anyone out there, and thank you for peeping at my blog, much appreciated.

Mini Crackers

Hi friends.

I think I am going crackers with all this Christmas stuff!
Anyway another thing off the list this week was these gorgeous mini crackers from Whichcraft which are for the table. Place settings that contain a lovely chocolate -yum.

I roped hubby into helping with these, he cut all the little bits of paper and I glued them on. They are from a Hobbycraft A4 Nordic pad, great cos they are a small design. I then inked the edges with Faded Jeans Distress Ink and the embellishment is the Spellbinders Tattered Poinsettia (the two smallest sizes). Once again hubby die cut these while I assembled and glittered them with Glamour dust. Voila!! team work!

Thanks for looking, back later with a simple quick card.

Take care

Hi Friends.

Hope your weekend has been a good one and you are on top with all those Christmas preparations. I am slowly getting there. I have been finishing a wedding cake for my friends daughter, so will post pictures of that after Christmas.

OK back to Christmas preparations and what is going in the little boxes? why little angels! They are tiny beaded ones that I have been making, and still have some more to finish.

They are from Beaders Companion, I don't know whether they are still available now, I have to admit to having had them a while and only just getting around to making them up. There are 24 in the kit, only just over 1" in height. I thought they would be easy and I guess they are not hard but fiddly due to their size. I have threaded some invisible thread through the bead heads so that the recipients can hang them on their trees (hope they are not a peeking here).

Right must away - and make more angels. Thanks for looking, and any comments left are much appreciated.

Little Boxes

Little Boxes - on a hillside -well not really but do you remember that song? These are not made of ticky tacky though!I used the Spellbinders Bracket Edge Box Die to make these, and on the top I used the Layered Poinsettia and a Create a Flake also from Spellbinders.
These would make ideal favour boxes or for a jewellery present. Mine are going to contain something Christmassy to give as a token gift - all will be revealed shortly, but for now I am going to keep you guessing.
If you pop over to Christine Emberson's blog you will see that she has been making them too.
Back soon with the contents to show you.
Thanks for looking

Cake anyone?

Well time got away with me, have yet to find somewhere we can buy more time! I guess I would find myself in a very long queue! So apologies for bad blogging. So many projects on the go at once, all coming to fruition slowly, and as some are for Christmas if they don't happen soon it will be too late for this year. I can't believe how close it is.

OK a cake this time. A Birthday cake for my hubby, no prizes for guessing how old he was last week! Anyway he had a good Birthday and not a lot of cake left. It is fruit and he LOVES fruit cake.

Bit of a gardening theme going on here. Sorry if the pictures are not very clear but I am still learning this blogging lark and how to get good pics on the blog. At the moment I will settle for being able to upload them!!
Used Patchwork cutters on here for all the little pots, trowels etc and the criss cross side design was a Stephen Benison roller.

That's it for today friends, back soon with some crafty things and hopefully show some Christmas bits, so you can see what has been keeping me busy.
Keep warm and safe.
